Gonna diet for real, 1400-1600 calories a day, no soda or bread.

OK so i went to a podiatrist today to see what i could do for a very painful ingrown nail. He proceeded to talk to me for about 15 seconds, tell me i have an ingrown nail, cut just the corners off my nail (contrary to everything ive read about cutting nails straight my whole life) told me to keep cutting them like that, and that would solve the problem, and left about 2 minutes later. My toe now hurts more than before I saw him, and I dont think what he did solved anything. 

What am I going to do now?
